Gotta love SD weather in mid February. Yesterday’s Carlsbad flyt with a little background #johnlegend on this V Day. Have a great Friday everyone.
I was able to capture this about 30 minutes before the sunset yesterday. This is an 8 image stitch pano shot from a few hundred feet up that captures everything from the Marina District, USS Midway, downtown skyline, Unconditional Surrender Statue and the Coronado Bridge. Also to make things more nerve-racking, there were 2-3 helicopters in the air behind me flying back and forth.
Here’s a 6 image panorama stitch shot of yesterdays sunrise flyt over the Coronado bridge. The final image comes out to a whopping 6500px at 300dpi. Can’t wait to test out some large format prints. I was able to capture San Diego’s beautiful downtown skyline all the way to the Silver Strand. This was shot from the Coronado side facing east right next to the golf course.
Quick 15 second video of my test flight with my Phantom 2 with Gimbal. I had some issues with my factory gimbal bracket so I had to install a make shift plastic mount in the meantime while DJI releases replacement parts. DJI currently doesn’t sell OEM replacements gimbal brackets so I had to use a temp plastic piece with drilled holes to hold my gimbal. So far so good but I’m hesitant on launching in thousands of feet until I get an OEM replacement. Top video was shot with my x100s and the bottom is the GoPRO hero3+ in the gimbal on the Phantom 2
